These designs by Kiwi Des Townson are revered in NZ and have the nickname Dessyboats. They have exceptional sailing characteristics and have a finger light helm in almost any conditions. Construction of this one began in NZ and was then shipped to Australia for completion. The best of Heart NZ Kauri was used in the hull and frames and the workmanship is exceptional. Double diagonal Kauri with Dynel sheathing. Mahogany was also used in the fitout. Needs a bit of varnish here and there and the rigging age is unknown. The engine is a Yanmar 1GM10 shaft drive which has not had much use. Barient winches control the sheets and lines and she has a GME VHF. Two burner cooker and a manual toilet. Sails are main, no1, no2, storm sail and spinnaker. She has a spacious cockpit and a lovely laminated tiller to steer her by.
