New Boats
Adams 12
This iconic yacht, one of Joe Adams best and built by Trewartha Brothers in Victoria, has many years of excellent cruising left in her. Built in 1984 and finished to a high standard as only Trewartha Bros know how, this one has 75mm more freeboard than the original design. The rigging was replaced in late 2021 with Arcus 316 wire. She is the popular aft cockpit design, with a fixed keel draft of 2.2m. The engine is a Perkins Prima 50 hp. (circa 2800 hours) She has a bank of five AGM batteries to power the electronics and all the cruising gear including SSB, VHF and 27 meg radios, 2 X 130 w solar panels, wind gen, smart controller, and 240v smart charger. Raytheon ST 6000 auto pilot, C95 chart plotter, and anchor chain monitor. There is a Lewmar E45 electric main winch and plenty of other sail handling winches. Ground tackle consists of a Swarbrick, Danforth and CQR with 70m chain held by a Muir 2500 electric windlass operated from the cockpit. Great value at $84,000.00

Remarks: |
This is one of the last Catana 58 catamarans ever built, and she was, more or less, a custom project and meant to be the rocket ship version of this all time classic world voyaging catamaran. Her owner made use of carbon fiber in every area of the build to bring down her weight. Careful decisions were made at every turn on her build to make her the fastest Catana 58 ever built. And she is that.
Go over her specifications, examine her interior, her inventory, and what you have here is a near-new boat, built to the highest possible standards, for an amazing price. A yacht such as this could not be duplicated today for anything less than US$2,300,000. She has every possible piece of high-end equipment you can add to a performance cruising cat.
She is one of my personal “best values” catamarans for someone wanting a near new boat of this size that has the get up and go to sail anywhere in the world in speed and comfort.
