“Coopers” Jeanneau 53

Jeanneau 53 “Coopers” has been a consistent performer in the hands of owner/ Skipper Craig Watson. Not only did they win PHRF in the 2018 Gladstone race, they also placed second in cruising division. Coopers did the trip of 308 NM in 33 hours and 52 minutes.  The crew recorded speeds of 21.4 knots during a bit of surfing in the sometimes 30 knots of wind over 3 to 4m swells. Not bad for a big cruising yacht? Craig started his sailing in Mooloolaba in Sabots when he was ten so has a wealth of sailing under his belt. This year has also been a busy one for Watson and his crew as they have just backed up by a winning performance at Hamilton Island Race week and three thirds across the line. This was Craigs 22nd Hammo so once again no newcomer to the tricky conditions. Coopers is now being prepared for a possible tilt at a Sydney Hobart. This well set up Yacht is for sale through Mooloolaba Yacht Brokers, so if a very attractive Jeanneau 53 cruising yacht that can hold it`s own against some pretty smart race boats is on your shopping list, call Ian to arrange an inspection.
